Posted 3 years ago

The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) Faculty of Education (FEd), in collaboration with the UPOU Foundation Inc. (UPOUFI) and Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc.- Dolores Aboitiz Children’s Fund (RAFI-DACF), will be launching its newest project entitled “Development and Implementation of a Free Online Course on Early Childhood Education for Teachers and Workers in Early Childhood Development” on March 5, 2021, 1:00 PM.

This initiative is part of FEd’s mission to reach out to a wide spectrum of learners through dynamic, innovative, alternative learning environments, technologies, and opportunities as its support to the University’s thrust towards becoming a University of the Future.

The project aims to develop a free open and distance e-learning (ODeL) short course in early childhood education (ECE). Furthermore, this will provide opportunities to teachers and workers on childhood care and development and enhance their competencies in ECE to better prepare the young for their future.

Initially, the course will be offered to Cebu daycare center workers and kindergarten teachers. Later, it will be opened to other groups of learners in different regions, as well as in the nation.
