In line with its digital transformation roadmap, the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI) recently launched two applications — MeasureApp and Grants Management System (GMS) — that could improve its internal processes and bring about new ways of collaborating with partners and stakeholders.
MeasureApp
MeasureApp is a platform for creating customized forms and scorecards. Once the forms and scorecards are set up, users and respondents may access them via desktop or mobile, and directly input data into the system real-time. MeasureApp revolutionizes RAFI’s processes for gathering, consolidating, reporting, and analyzing data, which are currently being done on paper and spreadsheets.
The Education Development Unit of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI-EDU) is pioneering the use of MeasureApp for its next round of SEED Awards in 2018. MeasureApp was launched with stakeholders during the RAFI Education Experience (EdX) and 2017 Seal of Excellence in Education Development (SEED) awarding ceremony last May 11, 2018. RAFI-EDU helps in the formation of effective learning environments by providing high-quality, cost-effective school infrastructure, and by capacitating school communities for the continuous improvement of learning outcomes.
Validators in school districts across Cebu can now directly input their assessment of each participating school to MeasureApp using mobile phones and tablets. Results of the assessment per school, per district, and the entire province will be readily available to RAFI, as well as external users like teachers, school administrators, district superintendents, and other Department of Education officers.
The Our Cebu Program of RAFI-Integrated Development Unit (RAFI-IDU) and the Early Childhood Care and Development Checklist of the Dolores Aboitiz Children’s Fund of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation (RAFI-DACF) are also expected to be set up in MeasureApp within the year.
Grants Management System
The Grants Management System (GMS), meanwhile, enables the automation of front-to-end process for financial grants to partner-institutions. RAFI-DACF will employ this solution for its Children Welfare Program.
Key functions of GMS facilitate the processing of grantees’ accreditation, evaluation, and approval of grant proposals; and processing, reporting, and monitoring of financial transactions. Grantee-institutions can upload to GMS their progress reports on project implementation and financial liquidation, and receive notifications and other communications via their user accounts and emails.
Other program teams whose interventions include financial grants to other institutions can also take advantage of the app.
Digital transformation
The launching of these two apps is another milestone in RAFI’s journey for digital transformation. Early this year, the Corporate Solutions (formerly Strategy, Systems and Solutions) team was established under the Corporate Assurance and Advisory cluster, which will champion the digital transformation of the Foundation.
Corporate Solutions leverages on its synergy between the Apps Development team and Operational Excellence team to deliver solutions that will continuously improve the Foundation’s multi-faceted value delivery chain.
