The Kool Adventure Camp of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI-KAC) held its annual KAC Family Day at the KAC Adventure Education Center in Balamban, Cebu on 14 April 2018.

RAFI President and Chief Operating Officer Dominica Chua and RAFI Vice President for Social Development Unit Atty. James Abadia joined the 30 KAC Operations and Support Staff, and their families in celebrating the annual KAC Family Day 2018, with the theme “KAC goes to the movies.”

“I’ve always enjoyed planning events, so I was excited to lead this year’s family day. It was a good experience for me because I got to work with really creative people who were just as excited and determined to make the event fun and memorable. It was also pretty challenging especially in terms of logistics since there were a lot of things to consider for the event to come together, but all the stress and effort was definitely worth it,” said Valerie Austine “Coffee” Ypil, KAC Relationship Management Specialist and KAC Family Day 2018 Committee Head.

“I’m grateful for KAC for coming up with this initiative because it gives our families the opportunity to understand and learn about the kind of work we do. I think it means a lot to each one of us that we get to bring our families to our workplace. It warms my heart to see the support and love our families show us just by spending the day with us at KAC,” she added.

Some 130 RAFI-KAC staff and families wore their best movie-inspired costumes, enjoyed the tour around KAC, conquered their ‘dragons’ during the Challenge Ropes Course activity, and enjoyed the Family Trivia.

KAC Operations Support and Safety Manager Peter Jay Alera’s family won the Best Family Themed Award in their Flintstones-inspired outfits. The families of KAC Facilitators Jan Noel Canieso, Kristy Ann Diaz, Leomil Urpiana and Diovanie Obineta, and Ypil won the Family Trivia.

“Seeing the rest of the KAC Staff and their families enjoying the games and activities made my day. It was a reminder for me that what really matters at the end of the day is just being with good company,” Ypil said.

The Kool Adventure Camp of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI-KAC) is the first and only fully dedicated Adventure Education Center in the Philippines.
