As the famous philanthropist Warren Buffet would say it, “If you can’t communicate and talk to other people and get across your ideas, you’re giving up your potential.” Ten top performing elementary and secondary public schools took on the challenge of unleashing their full potential on how to effectively share their stories of success and best practices in the recently concluded Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI) Seal of Excellence in Education Development (SEED) Presentation Skills Training.
The training held last February 18 and 19, 2020 at the St. Mark’s Hotel in Cebu City was attended by school heads, parent-leaders, teachers and representatives from the local government units of the Top 5 elementary and secondary schools. This was organized as a preparation for the SEED 2019 Panel Presentation and Interview and Education Excellence (EdX) wherein these top schools will showcase their best practices in the four key result areas (KRA) in education – Organizational Management, Instruction, Learning Environment and Performance.
Various resource speakers were invited to share their expertise and knowledge on topics on Professional Image, Structuring Content, Public Speaking, Visual Presentation, Delivery of Presentation and Answering Questions. The training was filled with knowledge and insights that would allow the representatives of the top schools to communicate their stories and ideas on education excellence.
One of the school heads shared, “I love how the speakers explained the topic and it greatly helped me a lot. I was enlightened and made a clearer vision or picture of how I would do my own kind of story in making presentations. Thank you RAFI SEED. This is one of the best trainings I have experienced.”
“It’s so heart-warming that RAFI extends its hand to the public schools. Public schools need help. We (the community) move mountains to transform our school and (we) have RAFI as our wall to lean on to survive and be successful in the vision that we have for our school, our learners and (have) the chance to share what we do for the love of the Philippine schools and this nation,” another participant added.
The RAFI SEED is an annual assessment and awards program of RAFI EDU that aims to increase high performing public schools in its commitment on “touching school communities to elevate the quality education and shaping their future.”
The Education Development Unit of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI-EDU) helps in the formation of effective learning environments by providing high-quality, cost-effective school infrastructure and by capacitating school communities for the continuous improvement of learning outcomes.
