Lucille, or ate Cille to her Hiyas Kayumanggi family (an organization with the purpose of moving elementary and secondary students towards roles in strategic positions in the development of the country), helps in the development of children which includes leadership, personality and even spirituality.
With the help of her partnership with the Kool Adventure Camp of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI-KAC), Cille’s passion to help the youth has grown deep.
‘Leaders of Change’
With her leadership, Hiyas Kayumanggi aims to inspire the youth to develop their consciousness in nation building through various relevant trainings.
This is one of the reasons why they have collaborated with RAFI-KAC, to strengthen their bonds as a ministry, defeat their own ‘dragons’ and inspire the youth to become better citizens and future leaders in their own way.
“We are a youth organization guided by the teachings of God, we inspire the youth to have a bigger purpose in society, and become leaders of change,” Cille said.
On Her Family Life
Cille is happily married to her husband Charles Beatingo, and has an eight-year-old daughter named Dasal Moriah, which means ‘beautiful cause.’
She juggles the responsibility of being a mother, a wife, and a leader of her youth organization. She doesn’t deny the difficulty in balancing responsibilities, but it is all worth it in the end because she knows that the youth will benefit from it and will be inspired by what she is doing.
Cille also shared that she instills in her daughter the mindset that ‘life is not boring, it is an adventure, and that she should contribute to the world,’
The Difference the Youth Can Make
During the interview, Cille said that the youth of today, with proper guidance, can make a huge difference for the country because of their passion.
“Heart for the country is very important, our identity as Filipinos will help us plan for our future,” Cille said.
On Her Greatest Motivation
Everyday, Cille lives her life knowing that it has an end. Guided by this thought, she makes sure that she lives a meaningful and significant life that will eventually help the youth of Hiyas Kayumanggi.
“Life is more meaningful if it is no longer about you,” Cille said.
“That is why you should always show compassion and take action on things that help most people,” She added.
The Kool Adventure Camp (KAC) and the Hiyas Kayumanggi Partnership
A friend of hers from AboitizLand, ‘Ate Cory’ told her about KAC.
“She told me that if we were looking for an adventure camp to enhance our leadership skills, KAC is the perfect place to be,’
“When we went to KAC for a visit, from the gate itself, we knew that this was the perfect place for us, from the gate itself, you can already feel it,”
“I told myself, this is it! This is going to be our partner, KAC is our perfect partner!” She added.
She also shared that they were not allowed to enter the Camp the first time because they did not have an appointment, and that amused her. After securing it, they were able to tour the facility and she learned more about KAC. This made her very happy because she felt at home and knew deep in her gut that it will be ‘life-changing.’
‘Fire’ and Her Almost Ten Camp Experiences
Cille’s camp name is “Fire” for this symbolizes a ‘burning heart which is always burning for God.’
“The moment I wake up, I can feel God’s love — I am fully alive,” Cille said.
When asked what she really likes about KAC, it’s the tailored-fit programs for the needs of the youth which truly helps in developing their leadership and life skills.
“Every KAC experience is a life-changing experience,” she added.
Friendly KAC Facilitators
Because of her many camp experiences, Cille has become friends with the RAFI-KAC facilitators.
She described them as ‘someone who enters their hearts, and knows their struggles and helps them overcome it,’
She mentioned that during programs, she always feels like she is one of the KAC facilitators — painstakingly and lovingly shaping the future of the youth of Hiyas Kayumanggi.
The Youth Experiencing the Kool Adventure Camp Firsthand
For Cille, the youth defeating their own ‘dragons’ is one of the most encouraging and motivational moment for her and the whole organization,
“Hearing the ‘thank you’s’ from the campers and the Hiyas Kayumanggi members is unexplainable, it feels like we have truly made a difference in their lives.”
Life Lessons
Being with Hiyas Kayumanggi for a longtime, Cille learned the value of listening, especially to the youth going through all sorts of challenges and disappointments, not to mention insecurities and depression.
“With all these challenges, I’ve learned to listen, and to sit down with them and genuinely listen, and make them feel that they are not alone,” Cille said.
People That Matters
Cille thanks God for everything, saying, “as long as you do everything with God, you will succeed,”
She also gives thanks to her family, to her husband, Charles and to her daughter, Dasal Moriah.
She is thankful for the partnership with RAFI-KAC, and to the facilitators who assist them each time,
“Thank you very much to Kool Adventure Camp for helping us, to Jan Noel Canieso, and other facilitators, we are very thankful for all your help.”
She is also thankful to Hiyas Kayumanggi saying, “I hope you continue to bring goodness to the community you go to,”
She ended the interview with this food for thought, “if you dream, include other people, and continue to live a life consistent with what you teach.” #IAMRAFI
