Nearly 800 day care children from 20 child development centers in the City of Naga, Cebu were treated to five days of fun and learning when the Mind Mobile went to their area from March 5 to 9, 2018.

New shows were introduced in this batch of shows for local government units supported by the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. – Dolores Aboitiz Children’s Fund (RAFI-DACF). Among the exciting ones were the Frozen Science activities where liquid nitrogen was used in the experiments. Children were able to experience a rare opportunity of seeing how liquid nitrogen works and how it can be used in our everyday lives.

Aside from the Mind Mobile team, the City Government assisted RAFI-DACF in organizing the activity.

Expressing her support for the project, City of Naga Mayor Vanessa Chiong said children should be encouraged to go outside the four corners of the child development centers to participate in experiential learning activities. She was very happy to see children enjoy and participate in the science shows that The Mind Mobile team prepared for them.

The Mind Mobile of the Mind Museum is a mobile science museum facility supported by RAFI-DACF. It aims to reach communities that has no access to science museums and make science alive to children from public schools and child development centers.

The Dolores Aboitiz Children’s Fund of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation (RAFI-DACF) aims to improve Early Childhood Care and Development condition at the grassroots level by providing capabilities to the Local Government Units to effectively track children’s development and by constructing quality early learning centers. Its Grants Program also supports initiatives promoting the welfare and development of children in all ages.
