The Municipality of Sibonga is partnering with the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. – Dolores Aboitiz Children’s Fund (RAFI-DACF) to promote early childhood education in the town.

For 2018, among those that have already expressed interest in having child development centers and play facilities constructed in their areas are officials of Barangays Simala, Poblacion, and Candaquit. This is the first time that Sibonga and RAFI-DACF are partnering for a project.

Prior to the partnership, RAFI-DACF will orient Sibonga on the child development center’s design and features, which include child-sized toilets, stairs and ramp, direct hand washing counter, doors and windows, murals and painting, furniture, and the playground. Roles and responsibilities will also be discussed, as well as the financial agreement and requirements for the construction project.

RAFI-DACF embarked on this project following a study conducted in 2010 which found that most of the child development centers in Cebu Province are dilapidated. To address this issue and to provide the children of Cebu a cohesive and child-friendly learning environment, RAFI-DACF initiated the construction of Child Development Center and Play Facility project.
