Members of the RAFI Toastmasters Club (RTMC) showcased their skills in delivering international and impromptu speeches during the RTMC Contest held last Jan. 11, 2018.
Participating in the International Speech contest were Jade Ryan Gadiane of IT and Elizar Sabinay, Jr. of Mega Cebu, who also competed for the Impromptu Speech.
Joining him were Edward Peterkim Yu of Mega Cebu, Kris Jordan Seville of Risk Management, and Rowell Casas of Audit.
International Speech is a five- to seven-minute prepared speech with a theme that would inspire the audience while Impromptu Speech is two- to three-minute speech immediately delivered about a given topic.
Gadiane, who just joined RTMC in October 2017, bagged first place in the International Speech with his speech on the quote “ Always wear your flaws in life as a badge of honor.” Yu, who shared his journey and struggles as a former Sangguniang Kabataan officer, aced the Impromptu category. Sabinay, on the other hand, won second place in both categories.
Winners will be competing in the upcoming Toastmasters Club Division Level Contest in February.
The event was attended by RAFInians, members and nom-members of the RTMC. Also present were Georgine Olmilla of San Miguel Toastmasters Club and Lisa Chan, Toastmasters Club Division I Director, who were contest judges together with RTMC president Joni Joy Dumasig.
