The Dolores S. Aboitiz Children’s Fund (DACF) is a program that focuses on children’s needs and concerns. By making grants available to children-oriented programs, it aims to contribute to the protection and interventions that build children’s wisdom and resiliency. 

DACF works with other stakeholders in creating child nurturing communities and families. It also strives to provide better opportunities for children to achieve optimum development of their potentials. As a program of RAFI, it adheres to the policies and thrusts of the Foundation and it complements RAFI’s development programs by specifically addressing children’s concerns.

DACF envisions a transformed community where every child reveres fullness of life.


MISSION

DACF commits to create families and communities who are advocates of children’s welfare and rights.


GOAL 

To provide financial and technical support competency development trainings) to short and long term development projects, initiatives, and infrastructures aimed at promoting children’s welfare & rights.


PRIORITY & GEOGRAPHICAL FOCUS

It shall provide financial assistance and technical support to development projects and initiatives for children aging 0-17 years old) within Visayas regions DACF, however, places high priority acceptance to proposals coming from proponents within Central Visayas, projects though can be implemented outside the region.


PROGRAMS

DACF endeavors to shape families and communities where children’s welfare and rights prevail through preventive and developmental approaches It will work for the well-being of every child through:

1 Transformational Development Programs

Changing a child’s life for the better is the focus of this program It supports initiatives that will:
  • Equip the children’s families towards economic sustainability by providing entrepreneurial opportunities
  • Provide entrepreneurship to families to be able to support  their children’s needs
  • Educate parents and care givers in communities about children’s developmental changes
  • Help parents develop and initiate better changes in their child rearing perspectives and practices in order to enhance their children’s lives
  • Provide opportunities for children to develop their potentials e.g. skills, knowledge & attitude)
  • Promote leadership and responsible citizenship  to families and children
  • Promote advocacy on children’s welfare and children’s rights
  • Provide spiritual enhancement to care-givers as stewards of children
2 Children’s Welfare Assistance Programs

This program shall provide support to the development, implementation, and operation of projects focusing on children’s welfare such as, but not limited to:
  • Preventing neglect, abandonment, abuse and/or exploitation of children
  • Identifying  and addressing needs of abandoned and neglected children
  • Assisting abandoned & neglected children so they can be placed, and when possible returned to their biological families
  • Carrying out residential care and foster families services
  • Promoting safety, permanence and well-being of children in foster or adoptive families
  • Providing training, professional development and support to ensure a well- qualified workforce

3 Program Development Research & Training Programs

This program shall extend assistance to research studies and trainings that can support/lead to policies that will:
  • Improve child welfare services
  • Improve the quality of workforce in child caring institutions
  • Prevent  & treat  child abuse
  • Enhance implementation of child welfare related policies & laws

4 Special Assistance Programs

This program shall provide assistance to the following projects but not limited to:
  • Medical assistance
  • Calamity relief
  • Scholarship for special children
  • Programs for differently- abled children
  • Equipments & infrastructure multi-purpose center for children)
  • Other programs addressing children’s issues that does not fall in DACF's priority programs/projects
