The best way to ensure that your child receives accurate, value based sexuality education is for you to be the primary provider. This is not to suggest that sex education doesn't belong in schools. Don't be discouraged if you've had little open discussion about sex with your child. It's never too late to begin. Perhaps your reluctance was due to embarrassment, uncertainty, fear, or maybe you were simply unaware of the need. Don't let your children learn about sex thru their peers, or those people who may take advantage of their ignorance.

Sex education has been one of the controversial issues, at least, in the Philippine society. It is controversial in the sense that not all seems to be in favor to talk about it to the young while a good number of people pushes for its being put into the flatform in the primary educatonal sytem of the country. In the former case, talking about sex is a taboo to the extent that children must be spared from hearing what seems to be informal discussion about the topic.  On the other hand, as to the latter, a good number of unwanted pregnancies, particularly among the young high school students, calls for a classroom (formal) discussion on matters of human sexuality, of which "sex" must have been given a clearer understanding as a term among others. While the taboo culture seemingly demands silence, the Philippine media system caters no less than glances of that which the taboo culture has been drwoned into the silence. Advocates of those who want to lessen the rate of unwanted pregrancies among the youth feel the necessity of putting the taboo culture into the trash bin. In the ongoing discourse on sex education, the right age is also considered. However, it should be taken into account that sex is just part and parcel of a discourse with a wider scope,i.e.  human sexuality. To this end, it's not really an issue as to what is the right age for one to undergo sex education, for even as a newly born baby, a child can already be given important dealings on human sexuality. This is true and possible, for it is in the way parents starting to nurture a newly born child that a discourse on human sexuality between parents and a child also starts.

SEX EDUCATION..Filipinos, due to their conservative thinking and not being open-minded in things tend to think sex education is bad for the youngsters nowadays. But, because of the generation that is rapidly adopting to the beliefs or attitudes of people living in US. Present generations are becoming more liberated that they think sex is okay especially if done with the right precautions.Since this has been the thinking of most youngsters nowadays, do you think this is enough for the adults to be alert and accept and be open-minded about this? Hundreds of young women got pregnant due to pre-marital sex. Since sex education has not been introduced to youngsters, plenty of teens got curious and tried it. And because they have lack of knowledge about it, they resulted to early pregnancy. Worst case scenarios, since they are not yet ready to have a family or have a baby they decide to have an abortion, which is an immortal sin to god and on the contrary, a big no-no in the soceity. SO..with what's happening now..isn't now the right time to promote sex education?well, i think yes.

i dont think, there is a right age on when sex education will be introduced to them. It depends basically on the child or teen if he/she is mature enough to handle and understand the topic and on how he/she will react about it. There is no right age. It depends on the maturity of a person and also his/her thinking towards it. This is something that families especially parent's to be open about in order to have a good understanding and build a good relationship with the family.

internet cafe owners as well as the so-called "piso-piso internet" should maintain strict guidance among these young children whether in-school or out-of-school since they are well exposed to :)ographic scenes in the internet. too bad barangay officials are not helping in alleviating  the said problem. i guess there's no such right age for as long the child is ready to manipulate computer machines then guidance should be at hand. most affected are those living in remote areas where people can freely do what they want to do. sa mga pasikot-sikot na mga kanto, and it is totally devastating knowing that these young children are already capable of doing such an illicit behavior. of course, women are the most affected in these kind of situations.

to better understand the importance of sex education, one must tend to do research/ocular inspections/do some observations to barangays where there is a large number of children and belonging to the poorest sector of the society. must prone sila to any form of sexual behavior since walang pakialaman sa kanilang lugar. - personal experience!
