The Eduardo Aboitiz Development Studies Center (EADSC) of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI) will hold an Understanding Choices Forum, entitled “The 1st 100 days in Governance…Results Matter,” on Aug. 5 at 1:30 p.m. at the Bryant George Hall of EADSC building, Lopez Jaena St., Cebu City.
To provide the public with in-depth understanding on the origin, significance, and implications of the 1st 100 days of a newly elected official, the forum will feature the 100 days agenda lined up by Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama for his constituents in the context of his three-year roadmap for governance and development.
The half-day event will provide participants a venue to understand and make informed choices about supporting Mayor Rama’s 100 days agenda.
The term “first 100 days” has been used in the political parlance as an arbitrary benchmark to gauge how a high-ranking public official will fair in his term of office by his first hundred days.
The Understanding Choices Forum will also facilitate understanding on the tradition of the “first 100 days” of the newly elected officials, trace its origin, and understand its meaning and its implications to new leaders, to the civil society, and to the voting public.
Professor Rhoderick John Abellanosa of the University of San Carlos will provide participants with inputs on the origin, meaning, and significance of this tradition.
Leaders and members of local government units, other government agencies, non-government and civil society organizations, academe, youth groups, business, media, religious, and other organizations are expected to attend the Understanding Choices Forum.
The forum is open to the public.
